I just bought this because my Hamilton Beach Stay and Go insert cracked after just a few months. Now that I am reading these same things about this much more expensive appliance I'm worried I will have the same problems. I am so sorry I gave my trusty 25 year old crock away to charity (not to be confused with new cheap crocks). It seems it is irreplaceable. I want it back. Isn't that awful? I'm so sick of buying things made in China, etc and having to throw away or return because of dishonest construction such as fillers in materials that cause failure or in doing everything as cheaply as possible. Such a waste of our planet and landfill space. In the old days things lasted forever and were only replaced because the owner wanted something different and they passed the old on to children or sold at garage sales still in perfect working condition. Enough!
