We have been trying other blenders with horrible results. We wanted one that could handle thick ice cream and blend into shakes/malts for the kids. All seemed to make you keep stopping and push down the ice cream and start up again. This blender you usually don't need to keep pushing it down and keeps pulling it down unless you just have to much ice cream in the jar. I am so glad I splurged and went with this blender. It has plenty of power
