Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid Silicone Slotted Spoon, BlueCustomer Review: Very large slotted spoon Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this slotted spoon along with several other KitchenAid silicone tools several months ago. This is an extremely large utensil and is generally best suited for use in larger pots and pans. The spoon will hold quite a bit and makes quick work of removing veggies/bones/meat from soup stock. It has proven to be non-marring to my non-stick and enameled cast iron cookware and cleans up well in the dishwasher.
Description of KitchenAid Silicone Slotted Spoon, BlueLifting peaches or tomatoes from a blanching bath or dumplings from a broth, you need a slotted spoon that can take the heat, and here it is. You can even rest this against the edge of the pot and it won't end up with melted burn marks. Durable, good looking, and designed with both function and comfort in mind, this tool coordinates with your blue KitchenAid appliances. This slotted spoon is as sturdy as they come. It's a whopping 13 inches long, the bowl is a full inch and a half deep, and the wide handle feels comfortable in the hand. Four large slots leave grease or cooking liquid behind, making this the tool of choice for scooping dumplings from a pot of broth or greens from their braising liquid. The silicone construction is highly heat resistant, so you can leave it propped up against a skillet without fear of unsightly melt marks, and it won't scratch or otherwise harm your beloved nonstick pans. The KitchenAid logo even doubles as a rest, so you can place the spoon up against the rim of a pot without it sliding inside. With its cheery chrome accents and convenient hanging loop, this spoon will brighten your kitchen even as it stays within arm's reach. --Mary Park
