Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KT2651X Epicurean 475 Watt 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Imperial GreyCustomer Review: You'll Never Find A Better Mixer for the Price Summary: 5 Stars
While my husband and I raised five sons, I used a regular mixer with attached bowl, which for the 15 yrs has made thousands of cookies for scouts, birthday cakes, cupcakes for school parties, you know how it goes. I'd struggle in hopes that the double batches would never go over the side. My sons are grown and on their own now, but something happened several months back that made Norm and I consider buying a "excellent reputation." Norm was diagnosed with diabetes II. We looked at the foods we were eating and found we had to change some of our eating patterns.I've only had it a short time but am making homemade whole wheat bread every few days and actually have a good time doing it. I've never enjoyed doing it in the past, just felt like that was a mom's job. It's only been five yrs since my 18 yr old left to live with his brother in the Bay Area. We use Amazon almost daily.... It's the top of the line before you go to your commercial one, and I'm so glad we got the one that I've listed. Norm is eating much better, we both are, I've lost six lbs because of eating better, and feeling better about ourselves and not all the preservatives we're putting into our bodies. I actually look for things in the Diabetic Magazines and on different sites just to give me a reason to bake up a new healthy dish, or no sugar, low carb dessert. I can honestly say that I have ever been more please with a piece of kitchen equipment and all the great things that I'm coming up with, who knows I may put my own cookbook together! BTW, you're the first to know! :-) I'm telling you though, with a little bit of forethought, looking at pictures and other recipes, I've made some of the best bread and treats (low cal/carb) O would highly recommend this mixer for anyone that would ever want oneel I've been so pleased with your overall service that I rarely go anyplace else to shop. You've always been wonderful with discounts, free shipping during the busiest time of the year. Being a chronic pain patient I find it almost impossible to shop, so I did the majority of through Amazon. You really are my favorite site along with greeting cards, now you have that too. Guess I'm getting off the subject here, just want you to know how much I enjoy finding out about you four yrs ago. Sincerely, Susan Daley Sonora, CA
Description of KitchenAid KT2651X Epicurean 475 Watt 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Imperial GreyKitchenAid's stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 475 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough; the 6-quart bowl can hold up to 11 cups of flour, which translates into as many as 192 sweet treats. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solid in construction and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist; untwisting them is a bit trickier because the attachment stems are short and can be hard to grasp, especially if they get the least bit greasy. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing 16-1/2 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball (25 pounds), this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off. --Betsy Danheim
