Customer Review: I'm a professional chef, and this slow cooker is the best

My son and daughter-in-law are both professionals with 12 hour work days. When I visit, I am always surprised when meals in their home consist of take-out, store-bought rotisserie chickens, and pizza. So I surprised them with this KitchenAid slow cooker and a couple of slow cooker recipe books. The slow cooker is big, and I think the shear size intimidated them. Also, my daughter-in-law was wary of leaving anything plugged in overnight or when there was no one home. I bought a big slow cooker because they have 3 children, and with this big family I thought they could make dinner and then have left-overs.
Well, they were afraid to use it. So on my next visit, I made dinner every night with it. This machine is so easy, very intuitive and makes things like soup or bean dishes as well as the dishes I fuss over for hours. It goes from dry beans to savory black bean soup in 6 sours. The beans are whole and tender, the liquid part of the soup not liquidy or thick, but just right. Stews come out well, with the meat tender, and the veggies are not cooked into nothing, but still holding their shapes. I am tempted to buy this machine for myself and my husband, but I think it's a bit large for a family of two. I don't believe KitchenAid makes a smaller one.
The one piece of advice I would like to give to prospective owners is that they should wait to season their dishes, seasoning right before they serve.
Yes, this KitchenAid slow cooker is as good as I expected from a KitchenAid appliance. I own their food processor and blender, and they, too, are topnotch.
