This is a GREAT blender! Makes my old Osterizer look really bad. Makes smoothies in seconds. It's really powerful. I like the polycarbonate jar, and I didn't think I would. It cleans up easily and I like that the blade assembly stays in place - you just run the jar under the faucet to clean it. Nice design, smooth, easy to clean exterior. Sturdy and not as noisy as I imagined it would be. The base is kind of heavy, but who carries the base around? I don't know why this color (caviar) was on sale - it's really a beautiful black with microscopic little sparkles, like a metallic finish on a car's paint job. It was an extremely good price, and I got a $[...] rebate from Kitchenaid on top of that.

The unit's Intelli-Speed electronic sensor automatically adjusts the power to maintain a consistent speed even with thicker mixtures, while its solid die-cast metal base with a steel-reinforced coupler and sharp one-piece stainless-steel blade ensures stability and quiet operation.
