Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KFPW760OB 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, Onyx BlackCustomer Review: Simply Incredible! Summary: 5 Stars
After going through a handful of other processors, we finally decided to spend the money on a quality unit. If we had gone this route in the first place, we would have spent less money!
Like others, we first thought of going with a Cuisinart. But after reading review after review of poor customer service, we decided against it. We had seen KitchenAid products used on some of our favorite cooking shows and decided to see what they had to offer.
We nearly went with the professional grade unit, but couldn't justify the extra cost. This does everything we need it to without complaint. It's very powerful, exceptionally quiet, and remarkably versatile. It gets used almost every day now for some task, whether it's making a breakfast shake, grating (or slicing) cheese, quick chopping, mincing garlic... I don't think it sees the dishwasher more than once a week because it gets hand-cleaned after every use and is ready to take on the next task.
We were a little concerned with the weight, but it stays on the countertop now since it is used so often. The loss of a little counterspace is an easy compromise. The storage unit that holds all the extra parts fits easily in a cupboard and we pull what we need from it as we go.
I can't stress enough how much difference a food processor can make for food preperation. And spending the money on a top-end unit has made even more of a difference. If you take pride in your cooking but don't want to break the bank, don't settle for an "almost good enough" food processor (or 2, or 3...). Your pocketbook will suffer in the long run.
