Customer Review: KitchenAid Customer Service

This is the first time I have written a review. Because of the Customer Service I just experienced from KitchenAid (12/15/10), I want everyone considering their products to hear my story. I received the KitchenAid Food Processor KFP750 in Dec. 09 as a Christmas gift. However, my daughter purchased the appliance in June 09. A week ago (Dec.10), the plastic piece that was attached to the main disc stem shattered while I was trying to process chocolate pieces. Not only was I shocked that this happened but upset that the processor was no longer operable. I loved this appliance and would recommend it with a 5 star rating. I don't know what happened but it was quite rare. I called the Kitchen Aid Customer Service Center, talked to Cheryl, and told her exactly what happened. I explained that it was a Dec. 09 Christmas Gift but the receipt my daughter gave me was June 09. Cheryl was extremely professional and gave me a service order number. Upon their receipt of my FAX with a copy of the original receipt, she would have a new KFP750 sent to my home. Cheryl told me to call back in 48 hours with the service order number for follow-up. Today, 12/15/10, I called and talked to Jordan who said my FAX was not in the computer yet due to tremendous volume of customer calls. She asked if I would hold while she walked to the service order dept. to see if she could personally find the FAX I sent. Jordan returned to the phone with my FAX in her hand and said she had all the information. She also said that she/they/KitchenAid would honor my warranty even though it was purchased in June 09. Jordan said I should receive the new one in 7 to 10 days and gave instructions on how to return my current processor with the prepaid FedEX return receipt. This was done totally hassle free and with 2 amazingly professional Customer Service Representatives at KitchenAid. They have earned a customer for life and I want to spread this good news about this company choosing to serve its customers.
