Customer Review: Great machine, no problems after a year of hard use

I purchased this machine to use for making baby food, slaw and smoothies. We've had it for well over a year.
I've been very pleased with this product, it functions wonderfully and doesn't "dance" around the counter when on like less-expensive models. It's also quieter than other food processors I've had. It comes with a good set of attachments and blades and a box designed to hold them all. I've used the small inner bowl on occasion when making small meaty batches of baby food out of leftovers, and I find it works well. If a roast turns out a little tougher than I had hoped, it can cream leftovers into baby food in a snap (I do cut it up a bit first, of course.)
It does have trouble with very large frozen fruit directly from the freezer -- that I usually have to cut once or twice or run in the microwave for 15-30 seconds.
Some people have commented that the tube that holds the blade is too low for holding much liquid; I haven't found this to be the case. So long as you don't try to remove the blade before pouring the contents -- yes you have to hold it in with your finger while pouring -- it works great for me. No spills.
However, there is a difference between a food processor and a blender, and you shouldn't hesitate to choose the one best suited for the job at hand. You need to keep runny liquids in the lower half of the processor bowl but I haven't ever had a food processor where this wasn't the case. I'd suggest that people use a food processor for solid to semi-liquid applications (soup and smoothies are fine) and use a blender for thinner, runnier liquids if needed in more than say three- or four-cup quantities.
But it's lasting beautifully considering how often we use it. I'm pleased with this purchase.
