Customer Review: Great little machine!

I cook for just two people and overall I think this little chopper is perfect for us. I will review each of its attributes below.
1. Size. The footprint is very small so it doesn't take up much counter space. Of course it's also light enough that you could store it in a cabinet, but I use it so much that I might as well just leave it out. I think the food bowl is a generous size, but I upgraded from a 3-cup chopper. If you are used to something bigger, this might be too small for you.
2. Chopping. It does a fine chop very, very well and quickly -- provided you do not overload it. If you overload it, the chop will be uneven and you'll end up with mush on the bottom while there are still large pieces on top. I would not use it to do a coarse chop -- I find it easier to do an even coarse chop by hand.
3. Slicing. We made a potato gratin using this chopper. I had thought that it would make too thin a slice, but found that if I put pressure on the potato (with the included food pusher), I had perfect thickness slices for potato gratin.
4. Shredding. Used it to shred cheese. Does well on medium hard cheeses like cheddar. Made a great big racket on very hard cheese like parmesan, but though I feared for the motor, it did shred the cheese.
5. Noise -- Surprisingly quiet.
6. Ease of clean-up. Just put everything in the dishwasher. Great.
7. Two bowls instead of one. The smaller bowl fits inside the larger one. Maybe I'm messy but I found it almost impossible to use the small bowl without "soiling" the larger bowl. Something always dropped into the big one. But, I still like having two bowls because with some recipes, there are a lot of things you need to chop, and with two bowls I don't have to wash the bowl in order to chop something else.
Overall, I'm very, very happy with this purchase.
UPDATE Sept 6, 2006: My little food processor is still going strong! I'm still loving it and using it a few times a week -- mostly for chopping onions, carrots, herbs, making bread crumbs, fine-grinding meat, etc. The best [...]I have spent in the kitchen!

Equipped with 5-cup and 2-cup work bowls, this compact food processor is ideal for small households or for small jobs when a large unit isn't necessary. Each bowl has its own blade, and the smaller bowl is perfect for mincing herbs, chopping onions and tomatoes, and making bread crumbs. Also included is a reversible, stainless-steel disk with one side for shredding such foods as cheese and potatoes and the other for slicing carrots and cabbage. At 450 watts the unit is amply powered for the size of the work bowls. A large, uncomplicated feed tube simplifies adding ingredients. Cleanup is simple, too, requiring nothing more than a quick wipe of the power base and its touchpad controls, and all other parts are dishwasher-safe.The processor measures just 6-3/8 inches wide, 13-3/4 inches high, and 7-1/2 inches deep and weighs 10 pounds so it won't skitter on the counter during operation.
