Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid Five-Ply Stainless-Steel Clad 9-Piece Cookware SetCustomer Review: Fantastic cookware Summary: 5 StarsAfter much research and reading every review I could find about cookware, I purchased this set. Although I am not a chef, I cook A LOT! This set is not only absolutely beautiful to look at, it cooks beautifully. Temperature is even, cleans up easily, foods do not stick and you can put it in the dishwasher!!! Handles may get warm if cooked over high heat for a long period of time, but not anything that you couldn't pick up with your bare hand. I will be adding additional pieces of this set. I couldn't be happier. Well worth the investment!!
Customer Review: 9 piece KitchenAid stainless 5 ply steel steel cookware Summary: 5 StarsLove the product. Heavy weight and easy to clean. I'd say it is one step below "All Clad" but TOP OF THE LINE and worth every penny. Good choice and good price. Thanks Amazon. B
Customer Review: Watch for sales Summary: 4 StarsI have been researching cookware to replace a 5 yr old Caphalon set I paid $500 for but did not hold up. I narrowed down my choices to the All Clad SS set or this 9 pcs set. After reading all the reviews I could find I started looking for the best price (which is all over the place). I had pretty much decided to spend $309 when I visited a TJ Max store with my wife. I found this set unopened for $229, bought 2 extra pans and got 10% off the total purchase due to being a first time buyer, 13 pcs for <$300!
The cookware heats well and is easy to clean up, appears it will last a life time.
Customer Review: 5-Ply, 5 stars ***** Summary: 5 StarsI purchased this set about a year ago, and it is still cooking great, and still looks brand new, I love to cook so the pots and pans in this set get used quite a bit, I have not purchased a product yet from KitchenAid that has not lived up to the quality associated with this household name. I definetely reccomend this set to anyone who is considering purchasing it, it is well worth the few extra dollars to buy things of good quality because you will never have to replace them.
Customer Review: Good cookware for the price but..... Summary: 3 StarsI purchased this cookware about 4.5 years ago and I too, bought it based on the reviews on Amazon. In fact, I returned All-Clad open stock pieces to purchase the KitchenAid (KA) five-ply. If I had to do it over again, I would spend the extra money and purchase the All-Clad, even if it meant starting out with less pieces. My opinion is based on the performance of the KA handles. If you are cooking for an extended period of time the handles get very, very hot and because I have a problem with my right wrist, I find the extra heft of these pans, to be a hinderance. The only way I can pour is to use two silicone pot holders; one on the handle and another on the bottom of the pan. I do not find this cookware difficult to clean, if you soak it over night, but it scratches more easily than the two All-Clad pieces I own, and must be left on the stove to cool down thoroughly before putting it in the sink. I learned this the hard way; I have a stainless steel sink with a rack on the bottom (grey plastic, to look like stainless) and the KA empty pan melted the plastic. That said, I didn't test the All-Clad to see if the same thing would happen! On the positive side, these pots will last a lifetime, and are far more reasonable now, then when I acquired them.
