Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kitchen Aid KG303 Multi Slicer, RedCustomer Review: Item does work however, with patience Summary: 5 Stars
The apple slicer blade works nicely. The large cut french fry slicer works but the secret is to place the large end of the potato under the blade first. Remember, these are manual type cutters that do require patience and safety issues. I have used my cutters many times and they have not broken. I am a small frame person with not much strength. Do not try to slam the blade through the item all at one time. Potatoes are more dense than an apple. You have to master the use of these blades and they do work.
Description of Kitchen Aid KG303 Multi Slicer, RedNow you can have matchstick julienne carrots or cheese, a sectioned and cored apple, or a pile of neatly cut French fries in no time at all. This multi slicer features oversized non-slip handles and three slicer inserts. All you do is load the insert of choice and snap it securely to the bottom of the slicer housing, place food on a cutting board, and apply downward pressure to the handles of the slicer to push it through the food. This slicing gadget is a supplement to a food processor, performing slicing jobs that most food processors can?t do well with disc inserts. The tool comes with three different square stainless-steel inserts that snap into the two-handed slicer. Aligning the slicer over food and then pushing down by hand cuts the food into the desired shape. The pie-shaped insert is ideal for coring apples or pears, while the two grid-shaped inserts cut potatoes for French fries or dices other cooked vegetables in either thick or thin widths. The ergonomic handles have comfortable Santoprene grips that keep the slicer from slipping out of your hands. Inserts are all dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. --Cristina Vaamonde
