Customer Review: About that pouring shield

Let me say up front that this is not the type of Kitchenaid Mixer I have -- mine has the fixed head. This is something I have always regretted; the fixed head is a very poor design. But because the head is fixed and can't be tilted back, I bought the pouring shield. It is in two pieces, and very tricky to assemble and place correctly. Reader, I ditched it. Yes, if it was stated as being in the box, it should have been in the box. But don't feel too bad if it isn't: it's more trouble than it's worth. If you want to pour something in the mixer, just stop the blades and tilt back the head. I plan to buy one of these refurbs. I don't care if the shield is in the box or not. These are very good mixers -- that's the bottom line.
